What will the day-to-day look like?

● Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python services and APIs.

● Integrate AI models, Large Language Models (LLMs), and machine learning services into production environments.

● Define service architectures, data models, persistence strategies, and integration patterns.

● Deploy and operate cloud-native solutions, primarily on AWS.

● Design systems with reliability, security, observability, and cost-efficiency in mind.

● Address production AI challenges including rate limits, retries, fallbacks, latency optimization, and structured outputs.

● Improve testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, dashboards, and alerting capabilities.

● Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, Platform Engineers, Security teams, and Architects.

● Lead technical discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor fellow engineers.

● Drive continuous improvements and challenge overly complex or ineffective solutions.

What are we looking for?

● 7+ years of experience in Backend Software Engineering.

● Strong professional experience developing applications with Python.

● Proven experience designing APIs, backend services, and system integrations.

● Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and failure-handling patterns.

● Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and schema evolution.

● Hands-on experience operating services in cloud environments, preferably AWS.

● Strong knowledge of testing strategies, CI/CD practices, observability, and production support.

● Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.

● Understanding of security, privacy, and data protection principles.

● Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Valuable background

● Experience with FastAPI and modern Python frameworks.

● Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

● Experience with Amazon EKS and container orchestration platforms.

● Strong database expertise with PostgreSQL and/or Amazon Aurora.

● Experience with asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.

● Knowledge of enterprise identity and authentication solutions.

● Hands-on experience integrating AI, Generative AI, and Large Language Models into production applications.

● Background working within complex enterprise or large-scale technology environments.

● Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.
